Crest Nicholson's South division are currently recruiting for a Technical Director to strategically lead the technical team, developing and delivering successful developments with a proactive, forward-thinking approach. With exciting growth plans, now is a great time to be part of our history.

By building a structurally effective team, building close relationships with the board of Directors and striving to develop and improve the South division's land bank and development opportunities within the market, this will enable the successful candidate to maximise business opportunities and growth for your division.

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be collaboratively working towards the common goal in managing expectations on delivery and deadlines in order to achieve realistic production targets.

Purpose of the role

To lead the Technical team with technical appraisals, abnormal costings of potential development land and pre-operational programmes are provided within required timescales.
Oversee

structural/architectural

designs and development proposals to produce the most cost effective scheme compatible with Town Planning, Building and Marketing opportunities.
Make leading decisions on strategic land acquisitions and Planning Appeals, including technical studies, negotiating with statutory Authorities, instructing Consultants and obtaining/vetting their reports.
Ensure within the Technical Department an awareness is maintained of the need for suitable development land to be acquired.
Focus on building robust scope and cost plans for all investigations to educate our initial bid process working with land and development.
Leading the business plans for each new site, you will be leading on all release schedules, procurement processes with a robust understanding of the sales market and cost inflation over the life of the project.

Essential Skills

New Homes Development background to an Executive/Director level with a mixture of

Engineering/Architectural

experience
Complex project management of multi-phase developments and managing multiple projects
Strong Leadership qualities, demonstrating an ability to motivate and lead your teams
Highly skilled in implementing new processes, procedures, structures
Leads by example with a focus on developing and supporting staff to maximise their potential and strengths
Practicing knowledge of the geographical New Homes Development market
Performance management of all site, technical and commercial
Flexible, adaptable and able to manage fluctuating workloads
Strong influential, persuasion and negotiation skills
Passion, drive and enthusiasm for delivering outstanding quality homes
A real focus on delivering bespoke, tailored, unique design and construction
Strong team player with a focus on driving both team and site performance
