Technical Engineer – Generators Location: Andover / Hybrid Salary: £45,000 – £58,000 + £7,000 Car Allowance Type: Permanent Hours: Monday–Thursday 8am–5pm | Friday 8am–4:30pm I’m currently working with an established business within the power generation and critical power sector who are looking to recruit an experienced Technical Engineer – Generators to join their growing team. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Generator Engineer who is looking to move into a more technically focused role, whilst still maintaining exposure to customers, engineers and site-based activities. The role is predominantly office-based with occasional site visits and will involve providing technical support across a wide range of generator systems. The Role Providing technical support to engineers, customers and internal teams Monitoring generator fleets using DSE Webnet Supporting engineers with technical queries and reports Providing technical support to Maintenance Coordinators Supporting product updates and supplier meetings Assisting with product development and technical improvements Providing out-of-hours technical support when required Carrying out and supporting site audits Assisting with technical quotations Supporting engineer training and development Supporting engineering quality control Managing warranty and after-sales technical issues Compiling RAMS Troubleshooting and providing technical guidance across generator systemsAbout YouThe ideal candidate will have a strong practical engineering background within generators, standby power, critical power or a similar environment. You’ll ideally have:
3+ years’ experience within the generator industry or similar Strong practical knowledge of generators and UPS systems Experience with fuel tank installations Knowledge of ComAp / Deep Sea control systems Experience with multi-set and mains synchronisation Experience using ComAp PC Suite, DSE Configuration Suite or similar PLC programming experience Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office Good customer-facing and communication skills A proactive approach with the ability to work independentlyA mechanical or electrical engineering qualification would be advantageous.
