Job Specification: Technical Engineer at London Gatwick
Introduction:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Technical Engineer to join one of our clients in Gatwick. This role serves as the primary point of contact for production staff during the preparation and execution of customer maintenance inputs. The position operates on a rotating 12-hour day shift. Responsibilities:
Technical Query Resolution:
Triaging and resolving technical queries promptly, ensuring compliance with regulatory and company procedures. This may involve interactions with OEMs and customers. Customer Representation:
Representing the Gatwick team at customer meetings and working closely with the Production Planning Team to ensure deliverable plans are effectively executed. Customer Liaison:
Acting as a key contact for customer technical representatives, ensuring their requirements are met satisfactorily. Procedure Development:
Contributing to the development and implementation of new procedures and supporting project work for continuous improvement. Technical Assistance:
Providing technical support for Boeing's Line and Base maintenance operations at London Gatwick. Escalation Path:
Offering an escalation path for all technical queries at any supported Line or Base maintenance at London Gatwick. Liaison Support:
Facilitating communication between customers and/or CAMO during maintenance activities. Technical Assessments:
Conducting technical assessments of customer-provided work scopes to ensure feasibility and identifying potential challenges, including required skills, tooling, access, and NDT requirements. Work Pack Oversight:
Overseeing the transcription of customer/CAMO maintenance data into approved work packs and ensuring the accuracy of supplied data. OEM Communication:
Communicating with OEM/Type Certificate Holder on behalf of customers when necessary. Planning Support:
Collaborating with production planners to aid in the planning and execution of maintenance inputs and assisting during periods of sickness and leave. Compliance Monitoring:
Monitoring compliance through sampling. Required Qualifications:
Previous experience within a Base Maintenance/Modifications Technical Services role is highly desirable. Experience using the AMOS system is preferable. Familiarity with accessing online Boeing documents through myboeingfleet.com. Ability to interpret technical drawings/documentation. Experience with major structural and/or avionic modification inputs is desirable. Preferable experience working with 737, 787, and/or 777 aircraft. Hold an EASA Part-66 B1 and/or B2 Licence and/or an Aircraft Engineering Degree.
