Must Haves:

• HNC/HND qualification in Mechanical or Civil Engineering
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in an estimating role
• Strong ability to read technical drawings and produce accurate material take-offs
• IT literate with good command of estimating tools or systems
• Experience in compiling bid information and producing quotations

Nice to Haves:

• Experience in structural steel or fabrication-based projects
• Familiarity with industry-standard estimating or CAD software
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Commercial awareness and a proactive mindset
• Ability to work independently while collaborating across departments

The Role
Our client has been established for over 60 years and a leader in the engineering sector, is seeking an experienced Technical Estimator to support the delivery of accurate and competitive quotations for a range of steelwork projects. You’ll work closely with engineering and commercial teams to carry out material take-offs, interpret drawings, and contribute directly to the success of bids.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with strong technical knowledge and commercial insight to join a stable and forward-thinking team.
