Technical Lead - Structural Integrity (Methods and Standards)
Full Time / On-Site
Derby, Raynesway
The Engineering & Technology Methods Team has an opportunity for an experienced engineer to become the Technical Lead for Structural Integrity. We are looking for someone who is passionate about eliminating waste and seizing our opportunities. The role will include developing new holistic structural integrity policies to cover new scope (eg assurance of functional components, assurance of new manufacturing technologies etc) and to maintain the existing structural integrity policies, methods and guidance, working with local specialists and engineers within the local and wider team.
In particular, the role will look to develop policy and methods that improve efficiency, pivot towards a more data driven digital approach and ensure compatibility with new products, processes and applications. This work feeds into a holistic coherent approach to the lifing of Nuclear Steam Raising Plant (NSRP) components and challenges the status-quo. This includes the whole SI scope from concept design, through to design code adherence, analysis (including Defect Tolerance Assessments (DTAs), manufacturing and engineering controls, quality assurance, ageing management and non-destructive evaluation (manufacturing and in-service). It supports all current and future programmes and covers the whole product lifecycle.
In addition, the Technical Lead for Structural Integrity will provide support to the relevant teams in the implementation of structural integrity guidance through pilot studies, providing responses to queries, and initiating clarification and modification to existing guidance material, as required.
You will be joining a cross functional group of local specialists, principal, senior and established engineers who develop the strategic policies and methods across multiple commodities and functions. This is an excellent opportunity to grow your reputation with the senior leadership both within the business and externally.
This role would suit someone looking to develop a career into technical specialist or senior technical leadership roles.
