We’re recruiting for an experienced Technical Manager to join a growing and ambitious electrical contracting business.
This is a key leadership role for someone who wants to drive change, improve standards, and influence how a business operates — not someone who simply maintains compliance.
You’ll play a central role in shaping technical delivery, raising quality standards, and building a high-performing engineering culture.
The Role
As Technical Manager, you will take ownership of technical standards, compliance, and continuous improvement across the business.
Working closely with senior leadership, you’ll identify opportunities to enhance processes, strengthen quality, and ensure the business consistently delivers high-quality electrical services.
Key Responsibilities
Lead technical compliance and quality standards across the businessEnsure adherence to BS7671 and current electrical regulationsProvide technical guidance and support to engineers and operational teams
* Manage and improve quality assurance and inspection processes
* Support NICEIC / ISO / external audits and accreditationsInvestigate technical issues and implement corrective actionsReview and improve processes, systems, and proceduresProvide technical input into project delivery where requiredMentor and develop engineers and technical staffWork with senior leadership on business improvement and growth strategy
About You
You’ll be a technically strong electrical professional with a background in electrical contracting and a passion for raising standards.
You’ll be confident in:

Essential Requirements
Strong background in electrical contracting (non-negotiable)
In-depth knowledge of BS7671 / electrical regulations
Experience in a technical, compliance, or operational leadership role
Proven ability to improve processes and drive business change
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
Excellent communication and leadership ability
Commercial awareness
Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable
* City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing
* City & Guilds 2382 (18th Edition)
* HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
* Experience with NICEIC, ISO 9001, or similar frameworks
