Technical Manager - Fall Protection

We are recruiting a Technical Manager to provide technical leadership across a specialist work at height and fall protection business. The role offers a mix of home working, office collaboration in the Liverpool area and visits to customer sites nationwide.

Reporting to the Head of Operations, you will work closely with Installation, Compliance, Design and Sales teams, helping deliver safe, compliant and practical solutions. You will be the main point of contact for technical advice, supporting colleagues and clients from initial design through to installation and inspection.

The role

Your responsibilities will include:

Leading technical advice on fall protection, façade access and safe access systems.

Reviewing and approving technical designs, methodologies and engineering proposals.

*

Developing compliant solutions for bespoke and complex projects.

*

Interpreting relevant legislation, British Standards and industry guidance, and keeping teams informed of changes.

*

Supporting project managers and installation teams, including site visits to resolve technical issues.

*

Providing guidance on inspections, testing and certification, and developing remediation proposals for non-compliant systems.

*

Producing and reviewing System Technical Files and Examination Schemes.

*

Attending client meetings, undertaking technical surveys and reviewing specifications and tender documents.

*

Liaising with structural engineers, architects, contractors and consultants.

*

Supporting product development, internal training, ISO audits and continuous improvement.

About you

You will bring:

At least five years’ experience in the work at height, fall protection or façade access industry.

*

A strong understanding of fall protection design principles and permanent and temporary systems.

*

Working knowledge of relevant standards, including BS 7883, BS 8610, BS EN 795, BS EN ISO 14122, BS 4211, BS EN 353 and BS EN 365.

*

Knowledge of the Work at Height Regulations 2005, CDM Regulations 2015 and LOLER.

*

Experience with System Technical Files and CAD.

*

Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.

*

Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

*

GCSE Maths and English, or equivalent.

*

A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationally.

*

Eligibility to work in the UK.

A NEBOSH qualification, a degree or HNC/HND in Engineering or a related discipline, experience producing engineering calculations, or experience in product development and testing would be advantageous.
