Technical Operations Manager sought for leading swimming pool contractor based in Widnes. Our client is looking to hear from experienced Project Managers, Operations Managers and Engineers from the swimming pool industry to join them as Operations Manager sitting directly under the company Managing Director.
This is a high-impact, hands-on leadership role where you won't just manage operations - you'll directly shape how the business performs, improves, and grows.
Reporting directly to the Director/Owner, you will be the central link between design, manufacturing, site engineering, and customer delivery. You'll also play a key role in supporting sales and ensuring exceptional aftersales service.

What You'll Own
Drive Operational Performance
Take full responsibility for day-to-day operations, ensuring production targets are consistently met, quality standards are exceeded, and customer deadlines are achieved without compromise.
Lead Technical Excellence
Manage and support engineering and technical teams, overseeing both planned and reactive maintenance while stepping in to resolve complex technical challenges when needed.
Improve How the Business Works
Identify inefficiencies and implement smarter, leaner, more effective processes. You'll be expected to actively drive continuous improvement across all areas of the business.
Own Compliance & Standards
Ensure full compliance with health & safety regulations and industry standards, including ISO 9001/27001. You will be the custodian of safe, consistent, high-quality operations.
Manage Budgets & Resources
Take control of departmental budgets, procurement of spares and materials, and resource planning to ensure the business runs efficiently and profitably.
Deliver & Support Projects
Coordinate smaller technical projects and support the development of specifications for larger, more complex work.
What You Bring
A strong technical foundation - ideally a degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering, or equivalent hands-on industry experience (pool industry experience is a strong advantage) Proven leadership ability, with the confidence to guide, support, and develop technical teams Strong commercial awareness, able to balance engineering quality with cost, efficiency, and business growth Comfortable using Microsoft Office and CAD/technical design tools A proactive mindset - someone who takes ownership rather than waits for instructionWhat's on Offer
