Job Description - Technical Sales Administrator

Technical Sales Administrator
Location: Wath-upon-Dearne
Salary: £27,000 - £30,000

I'm currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established engineering business that supplies high-quality precision components to a range of industries. They are looking for a Technical Sales Administrator to join their growing team and provide vital support across technical, commercial, and customer-facing functions.

The Role:

This is a varied and hands-on role where you’ll take ownership of incoming technical enquiries and projects, working closely with internal teams and customers to ensure solutions are delivered effectively. You’ll be involved in everything from reviewing drawings and specifications to managing bids and maintaining key account relationships.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Take technical and commercial ownership of enquiries, projects, and key accounts

  • Review customer applications, manufacturability, and technical drawings/specs

  • Assist with costings, quotations, bid submissions, and contract review

  • Provide day-to-day support to the sales team and wider commercial function

  • Support business development efforts, including trade shows and client visits

  • Liaise with internal departments to ensure accurate and timely project delivery

  • Maintain sales documentation and CRM records with precision

What We’re Looking For:
  • Experience in a technical sales support, admin, or customer-facing role (engineering or manufacturing environment preferred)

  • Ability to read or interpret technical drawings (or a strong willingness to learn)

  • Good commercial awareness and communication skills

  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

  • Confident user of Microsoft Office and CRM systems

  • A proactive and adaptable approach to working in a fast-paced environment
