Our client is a specialist distributor of sensor technology, providing solutions across a range of industries and applications. On behalf of our client, we are looking to recruit an experienced Technical Sales & Business Development Engineer to generate new business, develop existing accounts, understand customer requirements, recommend suitable solutions and prepare quotations. Package: Basic salary £40,000 - £50,000 (DOE) Commission Company car Company pension scheme Technical product training Opportunity to work within a specialist and varied technical market Technical Sales & Business Development Engineer - Responsibilities: Identify and develop new business opportunities across the UK and Ireland. Prospect for new customers and build relationships across relevant industries. Manage and grow existing customer accounts, identifying opportunities for additional sales. Understand customer requirements and recommend suitable technical sensing solutions. Sell sensors, transmitters and related products across a variety of applications. Visit prospective and existing customers and provide technical guidance throughout the sales process. Manage the sales process from initial enquiry through to securing the business. Work with OEM customers requiring sensors and modules for incorporation into their own equipment. Work closely with suppliers and manufacturers to develop product knowledge and technical understanding. Travel internationally for supplier meetings and product training when required. Technical Sales & Business Development Engineer - Requirements: Previous experience in technical sales, sales engineering, business development or a similar customer-facing technical role. Experience selling technical products, equipment or solutions within a B2B environment. Proven ability to develop new business, generate sales opportunities and grow existing customer accounts. Sensor or sensing experience would be advantageous but is not essential. Strong understanding of customer requirements, with the ability to recommend appropriate technical solutions. Confident communicating with customers at both technical and commercial levels. Strong relationship-building skills with a proactive and commercially minded approach to sales. Comfortable carrying out customer visits across the UK and Ireland. Willingness to travel internationally for supplier meetings and product training when required. Full UK driving licence.
