This is a remote-based, field-focused role requiring regular customer visits and would suit an Electronics Engineer, Applications Engineer or Technical Sales professional with a strong understanding of electronic components. The role offers the opportunity to work closely with engineering and procurement teams, supporting design-in activity, component selection and technically demanding applications, whilst also developing long-term customer relationships and identifying new business opportunities. The Role As Technical Sales Engineer, you will manage and develop an established customer base across the North of the UK, supporting existing accounts whilst identifying and converting new opportunities. You will act as a trusted technical advisor to customers, providing application-level guidance and supporting engineers throughout design and qualification projects. Alongside the technical element, you will play an important role in developing commercial opportunities and growing relationships with both existing and prospective customers. Key Responsibilities Manage and develop a portfolio of customers across the North UK region Identify and develop new business opportunities across existing and prospective accounts Provide technical and commercial support to customers Support customer design activity, qualification projects and design-in opportunities Provide guidance on electronic and electromechanical component selection Attend customer meetings, site visits, design reviews and exhibitions Work closely with internal sales, product specialists, engineering and supplier partners Support supplier presentations, training sessions and joint customer visits Maintain accurate opportunity records, forecasts and visit reports Provide market feedback on customer requirements, competitor activity and emerging technologies What We're Looking For Proven experience in technical sales, field sales engineering, applications engineering or a product specialist role Strong technical understanding of electronic and/or electromechanical components Experience supporting customer design activity or component selection Ability to communicate effectively with engineering, procurement and commercial stakeholders Commercial awareness and the ability to identify and develop valuable opportunities Experience selling into technically demanding sectors such as defence, aerospace, space, rail or industrial markets Ability to manage a regional territory autonomously Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly across the North UK Desirable Experience Experience with high-reliability or harsh-environment applications Knowledge of qualification standards or regulated markets Experience working with electronic component manufacturers or distributors Existing relationships with customers within the aerospace, defence or high-reliability sectors Degree-level qualification in Electrical or Electronic Engineering What's on Offer?
