We are working exclusively with a leader in Marine Electronics to appoint a Technical Sales Executive to support continued growth across the UK fishing vessel, workboat, and offshore markets.
Our client is a well-known manufacturer of Marine Electronic Systems, supplying advanced solutions across commercial marine, fishing, offshore, and safety-critical applications worldwide. This is a commercially focused technical sales role with a strong emphasis on the fishing vessel market, particularly within the pelagic and white fish sectors. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing customer relationships, developing new business opportunities, and overseeing projects from initial specification through to delivery and installation.
The role will cover both new build and retrofit projects and requires a strong understanding of technical marine solutions and customer operations within the maritime industry.
Responsibilities
Develop and manage relationships with fishing vessel owners, skippers, fleet operators, shipyards, and dealer networks across the UK Drive sales activity across fishing, workboat, and offshore vessel markets Manage projects from initial customer engagement through to installation and commissioning Provide technical proposals, quotations, and equipment recommendations tailored to customer requirements Support customers with product familiarisation, technical guidance, and aftersales support Work closely with internal teams and international stakeholders on specialist equipment and technical solutions Identify and develop opportunities within both new build and retrofit markets Attend industry exhibitions, customer meetings, and vessel visits across the UK and internationally Monitor market activity, competitor developments, and emerging technologies within the marine sectorRequirements
Proven technical engineering and/or sales experience within marine electronics, fishing, offshore, or wider maritime sectors Understanding of vessel operations and customer requirements within the fishing industry Experience building long-term relationships, and the ability to apply that to vessel owners, operators, and technical stakeholders Ability to manage projects independently from enquiry through to completion Strong commercial awareness and technical problem-solving skills Knowledge of marine navigation, sonar, radar, communications, ECDIS, or related systems would be advantageous Willingness to travel extensively across Scotland and the wider UK Competitive salary with commission and bonus potentialBenefits
