Job Description - Technical Sales Specialist - EV Specialists

Technical Support Specialist - EV Automotive (UK-Based)

Location: UK (with travel as required)

Full-time | Permanent

Salary: £40,000-£55,000 + benefits (DOE)

Are you a hands-on technical expert with a passion for electric vehicles and innovation? A fast-growing global automotive brand is expanding its UK operations and is looking for a Technical Support Specialist to join its aftersales and engineering team.

This is a rare opportunity to be part of a new-to-market automotive brand backed by a major international manufacturer, with a focus on cutting-edge EV technology and a bold vision for the future.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and resolve complex technical issues reported via the internal support system.
  • Provide on-site technical support to the UK dealer network and document findings.
  • Prioritise and manage multiple open cases, escalating where necessary to engineering teams.
  • Collaborate with Quality and Customer Experience teams to address product-related concerns.
  • Review and localise technical documentation from HQ for UK market relevance.
  • Deliver technical training, presentations, and best practice seminars to dealer technicians.
  • Create and maintain service bulletins, troubleshooting guides, and training materials.
  • Support the Warranty team with technical failure verification and expert input.

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years in a technical support or field engineering role within the automotive sector.
  • Formal technical qualification or Master Technician status (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, including use of diagnostic tools and logging equipment.
  • Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and electrical diagrams.
  • Excellent communication skills and a customer-first mindset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and technical documentation.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.

Desirable

  • Experience with hybrid or electric vehicle systems (IMI certification a plus).
  • Familiarity with technical support platforms and dealer systems.
  • Ability to influence and engage across departments to champion aftersales excellence.
