Technical Site Manager

Masdar is the UAE’s clean energy champion and one of the largest companies of its kind in the world, advancing the development and deployment of renewable energy and green hydrogen technologies to address global sustainability challenges.

Established in 2006, Masdar is today active in over 40 countries, helping them to achieve their clean energy objectives and advance sustainable development. Masdar is jointly owned by Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), Mubadala Investment Company (Mubadala), and Abu Dhabi National Energy Company (TAQA), and under this ownership the company is targeting a renewable energy portfolio capacity of at least 100 gigawatts (GW) by 2030 and an annual green hydrogen production capacity of up to 1 million tonnes by the same year.

Important: Role is based in Lowestoft within the O&M team, operating on a hybrid basis with an expectation of 3 days/week in the office. The role will also involve occasional offshore visits and travel to London and other business locations as required.

Candidates based in or near Lowestoft are preferred, though London-based candidates able to travel regularly to Lowestoft and our London offices will also be considered.

Job Purpose:

To be fully embedded as Masdar secondee in O&M team at an operating asset, working alongside the JV partner responsible for Operations and providing valuable support to the O&M team and acting as Masdar representative

To ensure the safe, reliable and efficient operation of our offshore wind assets and deliver technical projects that support day-to-day operations and improve asset performance across the East Anglia 3 (EA3) Wind Farm.

To work closely with engineering teams, site personnel, suppliers and technical specialists, to help plan, standardise and optimise offshore O&M activities to improve efficiency, reduce risk and support long-term asset performance.

The role will also be part of Masdar’s Offshore Wind Asset Performance team and work closely with Construction and Engineering Teams to provide valuable feedback and insights  as Masdar’s portfolio/operational team expands.

Responsibilities

Management and Delivery of Technical Improvement Projects

• Deliver technical improvement projects from planning through execution to close‑out, ensuring delivery to time, budget, quality and all relevant HSE, regulatory and legal requirements.
• Identify and implement improvements in maintenance strategies, repair solutions, risk mitigation measures and operational processes, optimising OPEX, CAPEX and revenue performance.
• Coordinate technical interactions across Operations Engineering, Site Teams, Global Services, OEMs, service providers, consultants, certifiers and regulators, fostering productive and compliant technical collaboration.
• Lead technical project management of ROV and geophysical subsea inspection campaigns, ensuring readiness, site coordination, execution oversight and close‑out reporting.
• Lead technical tender preparations and act as Project Manager for Balance of Plant retrofit, repair and improvement campaigns.

Development of Asset Management Processes and information sharing with stakeholders

• Support development and implementation of asset management processes, procedures and standards required to maintain safe and efficient operations.
• Capture, evaluate and share lessons learned across offshore O&M activities; establish robust mechanisms for knowledge transfer across current and future projects.

Provide oversight and act as technical owner for BoP scope

• Provide technical oversight of EA3 Balance of Plant scope setup, contract preparation and execution, including guiding a junior engineer in delivering strategy, Scope of Works, tender evaluations and planning.
• Coordinate change management, issue resolution, work deferrals and in‑process reviews across East Anglia 3.
• Provide robust technical recommendations across the full asset lifecycle, from development and construction through operations and into life extension and decommissioning.

Support the development and implementation of digital tools for O&M

• Act as technical owner for digital O&M tools supporting Balance of Plant maintenance (e.g., FUSION, Motion, iAuditor, SAP), ensuring data quality and resolving technical issues across the wind farm.
• Support adoption and development of small-scale digital tools to drive smarter, more efficient operations.

Comply with information security policies, procedures and requirements at all times

• Adhere to any applicable EA3/JV host/Masdar information security policies and procedures and identify and report security incidents and suspected weaknesses to the appropriate point(s) of contact.
• Protect assets under care (e.g. laptops and other devices) and information/credentials against unauthorized access, sharing, and/or damage/loss, in accordance with the Information Classification and Handling Procedure.
• Clear desks of all sensitive material and log off/ lock workstations at the end of the day and when leaving desk for a prolonged period in accordance with Acceptable Usage Policies.
• Ensure not installing, copying or modifying of any software on Masdar equipment without authorization.

Support Quality Health and Safety Environment (QHSE) activities, policies and objectives of Masdar and compliance with the laws and regulations of Abu Dhabi and UAE.

• This includes participating (when requested) in QHSE audits, office inductions, incident reporting and review of QHSE performances as applicable.

Preferred Qualifications:

• A degree or equivalent in physics, mathematics or an engineering discipline or Level 3 NVQ/ Advanced Apprenticeship
• Project Management or Asset Management Qualifications beneficial

Preferred Experience:

• 5+ years of relevant work experience
• Experience of renewables / power generation industry.
• Experience in definition and communication of risk and risk-based strategies
• Experience working on continuous improvement projects and optimising ways of working.
• Experience leading technical studies
• Proven project management experience (c £100k).

• Sound technical knowledge relevant to the offshore wind industry (e.g. structures, cables, high voltage equipment, SCADA, drivetrains, electronics, data analysis).
