Purpose of the role:
As a Technical Trainer, you will play a critical role in building the skills, confidence, and capability of our field‑based drainage teams. Reporting to the Learning & Development Specialist, you will design and deliver engaging, practical training that prepares teams to respond effectively to a range of operational challenges—including sewer blockages, flooding incidents, and proactive cleaning activities.
This role blends hands‑on technical training with a strong focus on safe working practices. You will ensure all learning aligns with Lanes Group policies, Yorkshire Water standards, and current industry regulations. Through clear instruction, practical demonstrations, and ongoing skills assessments, you will help our teams work safely, efficiently, and to consistently high standards.
You will work closely with our HSQE and Operational teams to ensure all training content reflects the latest procedures, safety requirements, and regulatory changes. Your contribution will directly support operational excellence, service consistency, and compliance across the Yorkshire Water contract area.
Ultimately, your work will help us achieve our mission to be a safe, secure, and industry‑leading provider—equipping our people with the knowledge, skills, and mindset to deliver outstanding service to customers and communities.
Base Location: West Yorkshire
Travel: Required across our network, including (but not limited to) Bradford and York – company vehicle provided
Job Type: Permanent, full‑time
Hours: Monday to Friday (42.5 Hours)
