We are seeking a qualified Electrical Estates Technician to join the Estates & Facilities team, supporting the maintenance, repair and safe operation of electrical and building services across a busy NHS Trust. The role involves planned and reactive maintenance, fault finding, installations, inspections and testing of a wide range of electrical systems, ensuring critical hospital infrastructure remains safe, compliant and fully operational.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance on electrical systems and equipment. Diagnose and repair faults on LV electrical services, lighting, power distribution, fire alarms, BMS, UPS, generators and other building systems. Undertake electrical installations, testing and inspections in line with statutory regulations and NHS standards. Support contractors and specialist engineers while ensuring compliance with health and safety procedures. Participate in the on-call rota and respond to emergency maintenance issues. Provide technical guidance to colleagues and contribute to service improvement projects.
Requirements:
Recognised electrical apprenticeship. City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in an electrical discipline. AM1 & AM2 qualifications. Experience in electrical maintenance, fault finding and building services. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Knowledge of commercial, healthcare, facilities management or industrial environments is desirable.
