Location: Tonbridge, Kent
Pay Rate: £18.00 per hour - weekly pay

Duration: 1-2 months, option to become permanent
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday office based

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and organised Assistant Accountant to support the finance function of a busy and growing business based in Tonbridge. Working closely with the senior finance team, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, preparing reports, and assisting with month-end accounting activities. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous accounting experience who is looking to gain employment straight away on a temporary basis.

Key Responsibilities

Posting daily transactions from bank statements
Performing weekly bank reconciliations
Processing weekly supplier payments
Reconciling sales and purchase ledgers
Producing weekly sales and orders reports
Posting purchase ledger invoices
Preparing monthly journals
Producing accounts to trial balance

Additional Responsibilities

Providing support and cover for the senior finance team, including:

Assisting with the production of management accounts
Processing monthly payroll
Preparing VAT returns
Maintaining holiday and sickness records
Undertaking other reasonable duties as required by management Is this you?

A collaborative team player
Conscientious with the ability to prioritise effectively
A logical and analytical thinker
Experienced in an Assistant Accountant role
Part-qualified or studying towards ACCA, CIMA or AAT (desirable but not essential)
