An established and growing organisation based in Colchester is seeking an experienced HR Advisor to join their People team on an ongoing temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive HR professional to provide hands-on support across a busy operational environment while helping the team manage increased workload and ER case volume. The role is fully office-based, offering free on-site parking and an immediate start.
Your new role
As an HR Advisor, you will provide comprehensive generalist HR support to managers and employees across the business. Working closely with the People team, you will help manage a backlog of workload, provide guidance on employee relations matters, and support a range of people-related activities.
Key responsibilities will include:
Advising managers on a wide range of HR and employee relations matters Managing and supporting ER cases, including disciplinaries, grievances, absence management and investigations Providing practical guidance on HR policies, procedures and employment legislation Supporting the People team with day-to-day operational HR activities Assisting with the development and implementation of HR policies and best practice Preparing HR reports and analysing people data where required Supporting managers with employee life cycle activities Working collaboratively to improve processes and reduce outstanding workloads Providing excellent stakeholder support across the organisationWhat you'll need to succeedTo be successful in this role, you will be an experienced HR professional with strong generalist knowledge and a proven ability to manage employee relations matters confidently and independently.
You will ideally have:
CIPD Level 5 qualification or above Previous experience in an HR Advisor or equivalent generalist HR position Strong employee relations experience and confidence handling casework Up-to-date knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise a busy workload Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications The ability to start at short notice or immediatelyWhat you'll get in return
