Your new company An established organisation based in Dereham is seeking an experienced Payroll Clerk to join their team on an ongoing temporary basis until December 2026. This is a varied role offering full responsibility for the end-to-end payroll process alongside supporting a range of day-to-day HR administration activities. You will be part of a supportive payroll team.
What you'll need to succeed The successful candidate will be a proactive and organised payroll professional who can work independently, maintain the highest levels of accuracy and confidentiality, and provide excellent support to both employees and management. Your key duties will involve:
Take full ownership of the end-to-end payroll process for employees in your Collect, validate and process payroll information, including starters, leavers, contractual changes, overtime, sickness, holiday pay and statutory payments Ensure payroll is processed accurately and within strict deadlines Calculate and verify tax, National Insurance, pension contributions and other payroll deductions Reconcile payroll reports and resolve any discrepancies Respond to employee payroll queries in a timely and professional manner Produce payroll reports and support payroll-related audits Assist with year-end payroll activities including P60s and other statutory requirements Ensure payroll processes remain compliant with current HMRC legislation and employment regulationsYou will have proven experience processing payroll from start to finish, a strong understanding of HMRC legislation, statutory payments and payroll compliance, and experience maintaining employee records while supporting a range of HR administration activities.
What you'll get in return: As explained, this is an ongoing temporary assignment through to December 2026 and will pay between £28,000 - £32,000 depending on experience.
