Tenancy & Neighbourhood Officer

Job Description - Tenancy & Neighbourhood Officer

Tenancy & Neighbourhood Officer
London | £22.85–£25.71 per hour, depending on experience | Temp to perm
Permanent salary: £32,000–£36,000 plus excellent benefits

Help people build a safer, more independent future through a home they can rely on.
We’re recruiting for a small, specialist housing charity that provides affordable homes and helps residents overcome inequality, insecurity and disadvantage.
Alongside its housing services, the charity supports women and children escaping domestic abuse, as well as women rebuilding their lives after exploitation or time in prison. As a Tenancy & Neighbourhood Officer, you’ll contribute directly to that work, helping residents feel safe, maintain their tenancies and move forward with confidence.

Why join?
You’ll join a welcoming, committed team in a smaller organisation where you can get to know your residents and see the difference your work makes. With a small patch and a varied housing management role, you’ll have the opportunity to build relationships, take ownership of cases and help prevent problems from becoming crises.
This temp-to-perm opportunity offers the prospect of a longer-term role with a charity doing work you can feel proud of, with excellent benefits available on permanent appointment.

The role
You’ll manage an allocated portfolio of homes across London, delivering a personal, responsive service. Your responsibilities will include:

Tenancy sign-ups, home visits and support to help residents sustain their tenancies.
Managing rent arrears and income recovery, balancing early support with appropriate action.
Investigating anti-social behaviour and tenancy breaches, keeping residents informed throughout.
Identifying safeguarding concerns and working with support services and partner agencies.
Carrying out estate inspections and following up repairs and environmental issues.
Responding to enquiries and complaints, maintaining accurate records and helping improve services. Some residents will have experienced trauma or face difficult personal circumstances. Your ability to listen, build trust and exercise sound judgement will be every bit as important as your housing knowledge.

About you
You’ll bring experience of tenancy management, arrears, ASB or tenancy sustainment, together with confidence in handling sensitive situations and supporting vulnerable residents.
You’ll need a sound understanding of housing management processes, safeguarding and the standards expected of social landlords. A relevant Level 3 housing qualification, or equivalent qualification or experience, is essential, alongside a willingness to complete any required housing qualification within 12 months.
You’ll also be organised, approachable and comfortable travelling between homes across London.

If you care about good housing and want to see the personal impact of your work, we’d love to hear from you. Apply with your latest CV
