Tenancy Enforcement Officer)

Good Afternoon,

I am currently representing Tower Hamlets Council who are offering an initial temporary contract for a period of 12 months with a view to be extended or offered a permanent position for the right candidate at a rate which is negotiable dependent upon experience

We are looking for a Tenancy Enforcement Officer this role will be based at: E1 1BJ, work on-site full-time during their probationary period. Following the successful completion of probation, a hybrid working arrangement will be available.

The right candidate will:

* Proactively identify and investigate suspected non-occupation, unlawful subletting, housing fraud and other misuse of temporary accommodation.

* Undertake tenancy and occupancy investigations in accordance with Council policies, procedures and relevant legislation.

* Conduct property visits and inspections to establish actual occupation, household circumstances and compliance with tenancy conditions.

* Gather, verify, record and assess evidence from a range of sources to support tenancy enforcement investigations.

* Interview tenants, occupants, witnesses and other relevant individuals as part of investigations.

* Investigate discrepancies between tenancy records, occupancy information and information obtained from other sources.

We require the following:

* Significant experience working within housing, homelessness, tenancy management, tenancy enforcement, housing fraud or a related local authority environment.

* Experience investigating suspected tenancy fraud, non-occupation, subletting or other forms of housing misuse.

* Good knowledge of temporary accommodation and the issues associated with occupancy, tenancy conditions and housing fraud.
