Tenancy Enforcement Support Officer

Sheffield City Council are looking for a Tenancy Enforcement Support Officer to provide specialist guidance, support, advice, and training on breaches of tenancy conditions, tenancy enforcement, community safety, and related issues. This role is essential in managing and resolving tenancy and community safety issues effectively, supporting victims, and improving community well-being.

• Provide advice, guidance, and practical support to staff on breaches of tenancy conditions, tenancy enforcement, and related issues.
• Train, develop, and support colleagues within and outside the team on all aspects of tenancy enforcement.
• Triage and assess cases to determine the appropriate course of action, including escalation to Resolution Officers if necessary.
• Manage and resolve standard to medium risk tenancy enforcement issues, providing information, advice, and issuing warnings as needed.
• Support victims and witnesses of harassment, nuisance, and anti-social behaviour by providing comprehensive support, including advice, guidance, and referrals to other organisations.
• Conduct home visits to perpetrators, victims, or witnesses, working with challenging and vulnerable community members.
• Maintain high standards of record-keeping and case file management.
• Collaborate with internal and external teams, such as Council Housing Neighbourhood Teams and the Police, to provide enforcement guidance and support.
• Stay informed on relevant legal and technical aspects of tenancy enforcement, anti-social behaviour, community safety, and housing management.
• Represent the team, service, and council professionally at public meetings, in court, and when liaising with elected members and partner organisations.

• Proven experience in tenancy enforcement, community safety, or a related field.
• Strong ability to provide training, guidance, and support to colleagues and partners.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of dealing sensitively with diverse individuals.
• Ability to manage complex cases and maintain detailed records.
• Knowledge of relevant legal and technical aspects related to the role.
• Professional demeanor, capable of representing the council in various settings.
