Savanta is looking for an experienced Tender/Bid Writer to work with their Public Research team.

About the Role:

This position sits within the UK Public, Client Development team, with a specific focus on managing and writing responses to public sector research tenders. It involves identifying suitable tenders, leading on response to them, and collaborating with sector and method experts to develop proposals. Savanta works across a wide range of policy areas, and our research supports development and evaluation of public policy and communications. 

You will combine your research knowledge with experience in successfully writing responses to public sector tenders. Working closely with the Head of the Public team and other senior research and client development colleagues, you will play a key part in growing our public sector business.

Key responsibilities include:

• Generating pipeline through identifying suitable tenders and staying updated on future tenders.


• Leading responses to tenders, working closely with research and client development teams.


• Training and developing junior team members, sharing best practice.


• Applying best practices in tender writing to proposals.


• Developing costings.


• Meeting appropriate revenue targets aligned to the level.

About You:

You must have a well-developed knowledge of research methodologies (quantitative and qualitative), techniques and tools, with experience of writing winning public sector proposals. Keeps up to date with new methods and tools, including AI.

Know how to construct proposals and understand best practice principles of writing them for public sector tenders.

Enjoys the commercial nature of the role and be motivated by the desire to win new clients and projects. 

Able to work effectively with various colleagues in research and client development teams to ensure all relevant knowledge is brought to proposals.

Being increasingly recognized as a trusted advisor to colleagues with the ability to influence both senior and junior team members.

Having a positive internal impact beyond the core role through career management and wider company initiatives.
