QA Automation Engineer 3-5 years exp - (Python/ CI/CD pipelining ) Hybrid role - Exclusive to OCHO

First QA Automation engineer hire required for an exciting and well funded US AI start up with long term connections in the UK and NI. Ocho filled the last two developers with this client with brilliant feedback from the recent hires . This an exciting role with a fast track path for a QA engineer.

The Role
As the sole QA Automation Engineer in our clients computer vision team, you will have full ownership of testing and delivering our clients vision engine service. This containerized application, featuring multi-model inference pipelines, is a vital part of our clients larger platform. You will be responsible for ensuring the robustness, accuracy, and reliability of this service through rigorous testing and quality assurance processes, with a strong emphasis on Python-based automation.

Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for our clients vision engine service.
Perform functional, integration, regression, and performance testing on containerized applications.
Collaborate with the development team to understand the architecture and design of the multi-model inference pipeline.
Identify, document, and track bugs, working closely with the development team to resolve issues.
Automate testing processes using appropriate frameworks and tools to enhance efficiency and coverage.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices in software quality assurance.
Continuously monitor and analyze test results, providing detailed reports and feedback.
Participate in code reviews, offering input from a QA perspective.
Stay updated with the latest trends in QA methodologies, tools, and technologies.
Benchmark the computer vision pipelines, focusing on model throughput and accuracy to ensure optimal performance.

Ideal candidate
Ideally 5-6 years commercial experience Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience as a QA Engineer, ideally in a computer vision or AI/ML environment( but even if you studied it at uni that would be fine)
Strong understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
Hands-on experience with automated testing tools and frameworks, such as PyTest.
Proficiency in Python programming language.
Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools, such as GitHub Actions.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.

Bonus points if you have
Experience with computer vision libraries and frameworks, such as OpenCV, TensorRT, PyTorch, and CUDA.
Knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
Experience with performance and load testing tools.
Understanding of machine learning concepts and deployment pipelines.
