Test Technician

Visum Recruitment are delighted to be representing our client, a leading global manufacturer of safety equipment for hazardous area applications, who are seeking a detail-focused Test Technician to join their Quality Assurance and Test team on a full-time, permanent basis.

The role of the Test Technician will be to test products to predefined procedures, supporting the successful delivery of customer orders while maintaining the highest quality standards. Reporting to the Head of Quality, you will work within an ISO9001 environment, play an active part in continuous improvement, and contribute to team performance against agreed KPIs.

Test Technician Job Overview

* Test products to specified procedures and record build and test information.

* Identify, reject and record non-conforming products.

* Work safely with mains voltage systems and test equipment, raising any safety concerns promptly.

* Use in-house labelling systems competently and accurately.

* Ensure conformance with ISO9001 Quality System procedures and other compliance requirements.

* Attend and contribute to production progress meetings.

* Take part in continuous improvement activities.

* Share accountability with the team for performance against agreed KPIs.

* Build strong working relationships with other departments and proactively resolve issues.

* Train colleagues when required.

Test Technician Job Requirements

* Experience in a similar role testing electrical components.

* Basic understanding of electrical principles.

* GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths at grade C/4 or above.

* ONC, HNC or equivalent in an electronic discipline is desirable but not essential.

* Experience working to and delivering on KPIs.

* Excellent attention to detail with the ability to follow detailed instructions.

* Strong communication skills at all levels of the business.

* A self-starter with a flexible, ‘can do’ attitude and a commitment to continuous learning
