Job DescriptionJob Title: Theatre Scrub PractitionerDepartment: TheatresHours: 37.5 hours a week – Early and Late shifts with On-Call ParticipationShift times: Early: 07:00-15:00 & Late: 13:00-21:00 x5 per week (longdays are unavailable)Salary: £42,848Contract: PermanentRole Summary:The Theatre Scrub Practitioner is a crucial member of the surgical team, responsible for ensuring the highest standards of care for patients undergoing surgical procedures. This role demands a combination of clinical expertise, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a high-pressure environment. The Theatre Practitioner will specialise in a range of surgeries including Gynaecology, Urology, General, ENT, Plastic, Breast, and Orthopaedic surgeries, contributing to the successful outcomes of these procedures.Key Responsibilities:Scrubbing for a diverse range of surgeries including Gynaecology, Urology, General, ENT, Plastic, Breast, and Orthopaedic procedures.Ensuring the preparation and maintenance of the sterile field during surgical procedures.Collaborating effectively with surgeons, anaesthetists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure patient safety and surgical success.Contributing to the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.Requirements:Qualified Theatre Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) with current registration and relevant experience.Specialised experience in one or more of the following surgical areas is preferred: Gynaecology, Urology, General Surgery, ENT, Plastic Surgery, Breast Surgery, and Orthopaedics.Sound knowledge of surgical procedures, sterile techniques, and infection control practices.Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to the dynamic environment of surgical theatres.Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.In return, we offer:Complimentary lunch35 days of Annual Leave (inclusive of bank holidays) that increase with long servicePrivate HealthcareStaff Referral schemeCompany pension schemeOn-going training and professional development opportunitiesSeason Ticket LoanHelp to buy a bikeFree Employee Assistance ProgrammeAccess to Eden Red and various discount retail voucherTier 2 Visa Sponsorship is available for candidates based in the UK who meet the job requirements.At King Edward VII’s Hospital, we believe in creating an inclusive and diverse workplace where everyone feels respected and valued.
