Pay: From £39,788 to £48,861 plus car allowance

Role
Overview

The purpose of this role is to contribute towards the
ongoing development of the Psychology department at Greenleaf House. To provide
specialist psychological assessments that inform care planning and risk
management. To train residential care staff in therapeutic parenting
approaches. To offer support to residential staff through consultation
meetings. To work as part of wider multi-disciplinary teams to provide the
highest standard of care for our young people. To deliver evidence based
psychological treatment to children and young people in residential care who
have experienced a wide range of adversities including abuse, neglect and
trauma. This will include individual clinical work and support for the young
person’s wider team.

Specific
Duties and Responsibilities 

Key Responsibilities:

·       Provide direct (with the child) and indirect
(with the team) psychological services across children’s homes informing care
planning and risk management.

·       Complete psychological assessments and
formulations with children and young people who have complex trauma histories.

·       Provide consultation and training to residential
care staff and other professionals.

·       Contribute to the development of trauma-informed
care pathways and deliver therapeutic parenting in residential childcare
training.

·       Participate in service evaluation and quality
improvement initiatives.

·       Maintain accurate records and contribute to
audit and reporting processes.

Teaching, Training & Development:

·       Deliver training on the trauma-informed
psychological approach of therapeutic parenting and imbed therapeutic trauma
informed practice across the organisation.

·       Support reflective practice and supervision for
residential care staff.

Systems & Equipment:

·       Use electronic record systems for psychological
assessment reports and intervention planning and outcomes.

·       Maintain proficiency in IT systems for
communication, reporting, and data management.

Working Conditions

·       Exposure to emotionally distressing history and
behaviours that challenge.

·       Travel between homes required.

·       High levels of concentration and emotional
resilience needed.

·       Demonstrate initiative and adaptability in
managing your own case load while responding to the overall needs of the
organisation.

Requirements

·       Diploma level (or equivalent) in a Therapeutic modality.

·       Registered with an accredited therapeutic body
(HCPC, BACP, BABCP, COSCA, BPS).

·       Additional training in therapeutic approaches or
evidence-based trauma informed interventions.

·       Additional training in delivering training and
groupwork.

·       Work with children & young people who have
experienced trauma.

·       Work with care experienced young people in
residential settings.

·       Experience of working as part of a
multi-disciplinary team.

·       Experience delivering therapeutic groupwork
interventions.

·       Experience of facilitating meetings.

·       Experience of delivering training or presenting psychological information.

·       Excellent communication and interpersonal
skills.

·       Knowledge of child developmental.

·       Understand developmental trauma and
trauma-informed care.

·       Manage and prioritise caseload.

·       Report writing and presentation.

·       Critical research skills.

·       Work independently and as part of a wider team.

·       Knowledge of Scotland’s care system.

·       Awareness of safeguarding and risk.

·       Knowledge of Scottish Policy (The Promise;
GIRFEC; UNCRC).

·       Emotional resilience and an awareness of
self-care.

·       Experience of supervising others.

·       Experience managing complex professional
communications.

·       Experience in service evaluation, audit and
development.

·       Experience of training others in psychological
theory and/or practice.

·       Experience of using outcome measures.
