Therapy Centre Team Leader

We are looking for a Team Leader to join the Keysoe Therapy & Wellbeing Centre to support the excellent work of the Therapy Support Animals. 

The Keysoe Therapy & Wellbeing Centre currently plays home to the our famous miniature ponies, each experienced in delivering Animal Assisted Therapy, gaining experience through one-to-one time, hospital and school visits, or fundraising through corporate days. In addition to this, we are recruiting some Pygmy Goats to play host to vistors, all of which can be enjoyed from the brand new Education Barn and Play Area, offering year-round access to our Therapy Animals. 

The Team Leader will will be an advocate of Keysoe International and The Keysoe Therapy & Wellbeing Centre and promote the strategy and purpose of the Centre at all times. The new team member will provide daily care to the Therapy Animals and oversee visits to required destinations to support those most in need. This role suits a gentle natured person who cares about animals and can exhibit the benefit and joy these wonderful animals bring. 

About the role: 

• General yard duties to include; feeding, mucking out, exercising and all other tasks to maintain breed specific welfare
  


• Educating clients about the care involved with each animal in the Centre 


• Transporting animals as required to external venues 


• Taking a leading role when in an offsite visit
  


• Assist with any individual grooming needs


• Cleaning and maintaining yard and turn-out areas


• Health and Safety awareness and compliance


• Ad hoc activities as requested by management

About you: 

• Passionate for horse wellbeing & healthcare
  


• Experienced in animal care with a stronger knowledge in equestrian care 


• Experience in compassionate communication with children and vulnerable adults


• Team player


• Approachable


• Takes pride in presentation


• Wanting to make a real difference
  


• This role is a Wednesday to Sunday shift pattern. The role holder must be able to work this shift pattern. 
  

All team members have a responsibility to demonstrate and advocate company values at all times; teamwork, respect, integrity, learning, sharing. 

This role will require an enhanced DBS check on a frequent basis. Therefore the holder of the role must satisfy the evolving requirements of the DBS certification.
