Elevation Recruitment Groups Skilled Shop Floor Team are proud to be working in partnership with a Fabrication business based in Sheffield.

We are currently seeking an experienced TIG Welder to join the team at this exciting time of expansion.

PAY:

£16-£18.00ph

Working Hours:

Monday to Friday (days only), early finish on Friday

40 Hours per week

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform TIG welding on thin gauge stainless steel components and structures to precise specification, ranging from 0.5mm – 3mm.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings
• Fabricate parts and assemblies using appropriate tools and techniques, including cutting, grinding, and finishing.
• Conduct visual inspections and check welds for accuracy, strength, and quality.
• Measure, mark, and cut stainless steel sheet metal to size using hand tools, shears, or CNC machines.
• Clean, deburr, and prepare material surfaces prior to welding for optimal weld integrity.
• Identify and correct welding defects or irregularities

Skills & Experience:

• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Fabrication and Welding (or equivalent vocational qualification).
• Minimum 5 years' experience in TIG welding, with a strong focus on stainless steel applications.
• Proven ability to TIG weld thin-gauge stainless steel sheet metal (typically 0.5mm – 3mm) to a high standard.
• Confident in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and working to fine tolerances.
• Skilled in material preparation, including cutting, deburring, folding, and forming stainless steel.
• Hands-on experience in metal finishing techniques, such as grinding, polishing, and buffing welded joints.
• Familiarity with using fabrication equipment, including press brakes, guillotines, and rollers.
