We are looking for an experienced Press & Mould Tool Maker to join our established manufacturing business in East Sussex.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled and practical toolmaker who takes pride in producing high-quality tooling and enjoys working on varied and technically challenging projects.

You will play a key role in the manufacture, maintenance, repair and modification of press tools, moulds and associated tooling, working to high standards of accuracy and quality.

The Role

Your responsibilities will include:

Manufacturing, assembling and modifying press tools, moulds and associated tooling.
Carrying out repairs, maintenance and improvements to existing tooling.
Working from detailed engineering drawings and specifications.
Machining, fitting, grinding, milling, turning and drilling components to tight tolerances.
Setting and operating conventional and CNC machine tools.
Inspecting components using precision measuring equipment.
Diagnosing tooling problems and implementing effective solutions.
Working closely with production and engineering teams to minimise downtime.
Ensuring tooling is manufactured and maintained to the required quality standards.
Maintaining a safe, clean and well-organised workshop.

About You

We are looking for an experienced Tool Maker, Press Tool Maker, Mould Tool Maker or similar skilled engineering professional.

You will ideally have:

Proven experience in a toolmaking or precision engineering environment.
Strong practical experience with press and/or mould tooling.
The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Experience machining and fitting components to close tolerances.
Good knowledge of conventional machining techniques.
Experience with CNC machinery would be advantageous.
Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
A professional, reliable and hands-on approach.
The ability to work independently and as part of a wider engineering team.Experience with injection mould tooling, press tooling, surface grinding, wire/EDM or CNC machining would be advantageous.
