Job Role – Tool Room Operative

Our client is a leading manufacturing organisation within the steel solutions, due to continued success they are searching for tool Room Operative to join the team.
hands on experience within a CNC turning environment with the ability to work under pressure. The individual will be expected to support the day-to-day production activities in the most efficient manner, working with a team to provide both manufacture of new parts and conduct repairs to support the manufacturing divisions.
Person specification

• Experienced in CNC Turning, Siemens Shopturn control would be advantageous
• Experience with manual lathe work and general Toolroom machining methods
• Able to read and understand engineering drawings
• Well organised, multi-skilled, self-motivated, and professional
• Good timekeeping and attendance
• Responsible for achieving own key objectives, as well as the objectives of the team
• Able to prioritise own workload and work to tight deadlines under pressure
• Computer literate and able to communicate and record information effectively
• Attention to detail; accuracy is paramount
• Able to communicate at all levels and have a “can do” attitude
• Willing to progress skillset on new equipment and machining methods
• Must be eligible & able to prove that you can work in the UK, as the Company does not hold a sponsorship licence.

Your responsibilities

• Operate Toolroom equipment to a high standard
• Operate a Forklift Truck and Overhead Crane to assist with daily duties whilst also enabling tooling to be delivered to production – training will be provided
• Ensure as part of the team, manufacture is covered in a timely manner so that try-out dates are met
• Ensure as part of the team, breakdowns are covered in a timely manner so that production downtime is kept to a minimum
• Aim for a “right first time” approach to all work carried out
• Liaise with contractors/suppliers where required and when additional support is needed, including agreeing timescales and costs.
• Follow verbal or written instructions and work to set out procedures

Hours of work: Monday to Thursday 7.30am to 4.00pm with half hour lunch break each day and 7.30am to 12.30pm with no lunch
