Rate: £115 per hour
Type: Contract, Outside IR35
Start Date: 26 October 2026
End Date: 31 March 2027
Hours: 50 hours per week, Monday-Friday
Duration: Approx. 23 weeks

The Role:
We are currently recruiting for an experienced TP141 Commissioning Engineer to support the NeuConnect project at the Isle of Grain in Kent.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring electrical systems are installed, tested and commissioned in accordance with design specifications, industry standards and TP141 procedures, ensuring all systems are safe and ready for operation.

Reporting to the Site Manager / Project Manager, you will be responsible for delivering commissioning activities in line with the project programme, quality requirements and budget.

Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and carry out testing and commissioning of electrical systems and equipment.
- Prepare and manage Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
- Prepare Commissioning and Switching Programmes.
- Act as a TP141 Authorised Commissioning Engineer.
- Undertake commissioning activities accepted by the Client Commissioning Panel.
- Record and document all testing and commissioning activities to the required quality standards.
- Ensure electrical systems are proven to operate in accordance with the technical specification.
- Coordinate the availability of engineering information, plant, materials, tools and test equipment.
- Work closely with the Site Manager and Project Manager to ensure commissioning activities remain on programme.
- Maintain a strong focus on health, safety and environmental requirements.
- Ensure all work is completed safely, on time, to the required quality and within budget.

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Commissioning Engineer within electrical / HV projects.
- Current TP141 authorisation and experience undertaking TP141 commissioning activities.
- Strong understanding of electrical testing and commissioning procedures.
- Experience preparing ITPs and commissioning documentation.
- Experience working on electrical infrastructure / power projects.
- Ability to work independently and coordinate commissioning activities alongside wider site teams.
- Strong understanding of site health and safety requirements.
