Trade & Transaction Reporting Analyst

We're partnering with a regulatory reporting platform as it builds out the SFTR capability behind its client-facing teams.

This is a client-facing role rather than an in-house one. Instead of supporting a single firm's reporting, you will be deployed onto client engagements, working alongside senior subject-matter experts to help institutional clients resolve SFTR reporting issues and map their source data to the platform's SFTR specification.

The work is primarily remediation. You will help clients scope reporting issues, investigate affected trades and fields, and support the correction and resubmission of historic reporting. The role suits someone with solid hands-on SFTR or wider regulatory reporting experience who wants to build towards a business analysis or subject-matter expert role in a consulting environment.

This is an initial 12-month contract, based in London or elsewhere in Europe. Most clients are European and predominantly sell-side.

Key Responsibilities

• Support senior subject-matter experts on client engagements, providing hands-on analysis for institutions resolving SFTR reporting issues.
• Help scope issues identified through internal or external audit, including identifying affected trades and fields.
• Support back-reporting exercises, preparing and checking corrected and resubmitted historic transactions.
• Analyse client source system datasets, including BRS Aladdin, to identify the attributes needed for SFTR reporting.
• Map client data to the platform's SFTR specification and flag gaps, ambiguities and fields requiring attention.
• Investigate rejections, reconciliation breaks, and pairing and matching issues with trade repositories.
• Check reporting scope and field requirements against ESMA guidance, with direction from senior team members.
• Contribute to Business Requirements Documents and write test scripts based on client business scenarios.
• Run testing and UAT, record results and track issues through to resolution.
• Take part in client working sessions, document outcomes and follow up on open data questions.
• Prepare clear summaries of analysis, findings and engagement progress for review and client distribution.
• Keep up to date with SFTR and wider regulatory updates and flag potential impacts to the team.

• Hands-on SFTR reporting experience. EMIR or MiFID II/MiFIR exposure is a plus.
• A background in regulatory reporting, regulatory operations or business analysis within capital markets. Sell-side experience is preferred.
• A good working knowledge of SFTR reporting fields, lifecycle events, reconciliations and exception management.
• An understanding of securities lending, repo or collateral management.
• Experience with trade repositories such as DTCC, Unavista or REGIS-TR.
• Exposure to remediation, back-reporting, requirements writing or UAT is highly desirable.
• Strong Excel skills. SQL and familiarity with BRS Aladdin, CRIMS or Thinkfolio are a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and the confidence to work directly with clients.

Length: initial 12-month contract

Salary: £60k - £65k
