Trade Counter Supervisor

Job Description

We're currently looking for a Trade Counter Supervisor to join our team. As the Trade Counter Supervisor, you'll be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our trade counter and ensuring the highest level of customer service and satisfaction. You will supervise and support a team of trade counter staff and contribute to the overall success and growth of our Watford Branch.

Responsibilities:
Supervise daily operations at the trade counter and depot, ensuring a high level of customer service and assisting with branch promotions and sales days.
Manage and supervise a team of trade counter staff, ensuring they are trained and motivated to deliver excellent service.
Assist customers with inquiries, provide product information, and offer suitable solutions to meet their needs.
Process sales and order transactions accurately and efficiently using our in-house point-of-sale system.
Oversee cash handling and reconciliation processes, including preparing daily deposits and managing petty cash.
Monitor stock levels in the warehouse to ensure products are readily available and stored correctly.
Maintain a clean and organised trade counter, ensuring that products are attractively displayed and in compliance with health and safety regulations

Requirements:
Previous experience in a retail or customer service role, preferably within the wholesale building materials industry.
UK Driving license is essential.
Ability to lead and motivate a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong rapport with customers and colleagues.
Good understanding of trade counter operations and procedures.
Proficient computer skills, including knowledge of point-of-sale systems and inventory management software.
Flexibility to work weekends (1 in 2 Saturdays per month from 8 am to 11 am).
