Coachbuilder - Traditional Panel Fabrication Expertise Required

This long-established, family-run restoration specialist has been crafting concours-level classics since the early 1980s, using traditional coachbuilding methods such as English wheel panel forming, TIG and MIG welding, and lead loading. With all work carried out in-house—from full bodywork and paint to mechanical and trim—their reputation for authenticity and attention to detail spans marques like Aston Martin, Ferrari, Maserati, Jaguar and more, with completed restorations regularly featured at major concours events.

They’re looking for an experienced coachbuilder with a deep understanding of traditional metal shaping techniques, ideally gained through working on classic, vintage, or bespoke vehicles.

Experience should include:

• Skilled use of the English Wheel for forming compound curves and panels by hand
• Traditional coachbuilding techniques including hammer forming, shrinking/stretching, and lead loading
• Fabricating panels from scratch using aluminium and steel
• Repairing or replicating complex, hand-formed bodywork to original specifications
• Working from drawings, bucks, or existing panels to create accurate replacements
• High attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship, with an understanding of how panels integrate with doors, wings, and body structure
• Experience working on low-volume or heritage vehicle projects preferred

This is very much a hands-on role for someone who lives and breathes traditional craftsmanship.
