Traffic Marshall /Gate Man / Escort (Secure Site)

Location: Wyton, Cambridgeshire
Job Type: Full-time, Temporary (Approx. 12 months)
Start Date: End of August / Early September
Hours: Monday to Friday (Overtime available during peak periods)

We are currently recruiting for a Gate Man / Site Escort to join our team on a high-security construction site. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for long-term, stable work on a prestigious project.

Due to the nature of the site, successful applicants must be able to obtain security clearance before starting.

The Role

Your responsibilities will include:

* Controlling access at the site gate.

* Escorting personnel and vehicles around the secure site.

* Driving the designated on-site escort vehicle.

* Issuing, completing and maintaining gate pass records.

* Carrying out light manual handling duties as required.

* Following strict site security procedures at all times.

* Working professionally with military/base personnel and site management.

Requirements

Applicants must:

* Hold a full UK driving licence (clean licence preferred).

* Be IT literate and comfortable using spreadsheets and basic computer systems.

* Have excellent communication skills with fluent spoken and written English.

* Be confident working independently and able to think on their feet.

* Be reliable, professional and capable of following strict procedures.

* Be physically fit to undertake light manual handling duties.

* Wear full 5-point PPE at all times on site.

Security Clearance

As this is a secure site, all successful applicants will be required to undergo SC (Security Check) Clearance and additional site-specific clearances before commencing work.

To be eligible, applicants should:

* Have no criminal record that would prevent security clearance.

* Have no adverse financial history, such as significant unresolved debt, bankruptcies or County Court Judgments that could affect clearance.

* Be able to provide a minimum of 3 years' continuous employment history (or explain any gaps).

* Be able to provide suitable references.

* Meet the eligibility requirements for UK Government security vetting.

Please note that security vetting will also consider personal circumstances, including any factors that may affect clearance.

Working Hours

Initial hours:

* Monday to Thursday: 8:00am – 5:00pm

* Friday: 8:00am – 3:00pm

During the busiest stages of the project, hours are expected to increase to approximately:

* 7:00am – 6:00pm, subject to site requirements.
