(Traffic Operator) - Position Overview

Founded in 2008, our client has evolved into an industry-leading logistics company, offering the complete road haulage solution for your supply chain requirements, including container transport, storage and distribution services.

They are now looking for an experienced Traffic Operator with a background in Container Transportation with key responsibilities such as Route planning, scheduling, communication, monitoring, regulatory compliance, problem solving, documentation, customer service, cost management.

(Traffic Operator) - Position responsibilities

• Day 1, Checking, routing, maintaining & problem solving (see operator checklist/timeline)
• Dispatch trucks in both day 1 and then to follow onto day 2
• Liaising with the port expeditors/supervisors ensuring jobs are being dispatched correctly.
• Assist with day 2 planning when required (setting up daymen / homework floats etc)
• Noting up drivers - including arranging parking and night out procedure
• CS assistance - liaising with CS team regarding day-to-day issues.
• Work with port supervisors regarding driver/truck allocations
• Liaising with HR regarding driver issues
• Liaising with Fleet regarding services - trucks and trailers
• General screen maintenance and closedown for the week.

(Traffic Operator) - Position Requirements

• Knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards.
• Knowledge on VBS systems for ports, TOPS experience, Destin8 knowledge etc.
• Must have previous container experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Flexibility in work hours, as some positions may require shift work or on-call availability.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, often high-pressure environment.
• Problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.

• Monday - Friday 08:00 to 18:00 (subject to business needs)
