Trainee Accountant

• Annual Salary: £23,000- £25,000
• Location: Brighton
• Job Type: Full-time

Reed Brighton is working with a well-established practice who have been running for over 100 years. They are seeking to add a Trainee Accountant on to their growing team, so this role is ideal for someone who has some practice experience or has started their AAT, ACCA, or ACA studies.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Preparation and submission of VAT and CIS Returns.
• Providing bookkeeping services using Xero, Quickbooks, Freeagent, and Sage.
• Preparation of sole trader accounts and self-assessment tax returns.
• Preparation of limited company financial statements and corporation tax computations.
• Handling company secretarial filings.
• Liaising with HMRC to ensure compliance and resolve any issues.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Some practice experience or commencement of AAT, ACCA, or ACA studies.
• Familiarity with accounting software such as Xero, Quickbooks, Freeagent, and Sage.
• Strong understanding of VAT and CIS returns.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills for effective liaising with HMRC and clients.
• Willingness to learn and develop
