• Salary - negotiable depending on experience and/OR qualifications
  NJC scale 5 - £24,790 actual salary

• Zest Education is currently recruiting on behalf of a well-regarded mainstream secondary school in West London for a Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025. This is a full-time position supporting students aged 11 to 18.

We are specifically looking for candidates who either hold British Sign Language (BSL) Level 1 or above, or willing to complete paid training, to work closely with students who are hearing impaired, helping them to access the curriculum and thrive in a mainstream setting.

• Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with hearing impairments

• Use BSL to facilitate effective communication and understanding

• Collaborate with teaching staff and the school’s SEN department to adapt resources and support strategies

• Encourage student confidence, participation, and independence across all subjects

• Assist in tracking and reporting student progress

• Previous experience working with children or young people with hearing impairments preferred

• A calm, empathetic, and patient approach to support learning and wellbeing

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• A genuine passion for inclusive education

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
