We are currently recruiting for a Trainee Coating Operative to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing business based in Leeds.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop a long-term career within a specialist industry. Full training and certification will be provided, allowing you to learn advanced coating techniques used to protect and extend the life of critical equipment across a variety of industrial sectors.
Initially, you will be based at the Leeds facility learning the products, processes, equipment and coating systems. Once fully trained and taken on permanently, you will become part of a specialist site team carrying out projects across the UK.
Working alongside experienced colleagues, you will travel to customer sites in company vehicles fitted with all necessary equipment. Projects can vary in length, with some requiring overnight stays and occasionally working away for up to two weeks at a time. All accommodation, travel and subsistence costs are covered by the company, with additional bonuses available whilst working away.
This role would suit someone practical, hands-on and eager to learn a specialist trade within a growing international business.

Duties: Training in the application of specialist protective coating systems Preparing surfaces and equipment prior to coating application Learning to operate coating equipment and associated machinery Working safely with ventilation systems, compressed air equipment and PPE Assisting experienced operatives on customer sites across the UK Building knowledge of products, materials and coating processes Carrying out quality checks and inspections Following health and safety procedures at all times Supporting workshop and site-based projects as required
Skills:
Practical and hands-on approach to work Good communication skills Positive attitude and willingness to learn Strong attention to detail Ability to work independently and as part of a team Flexible approach to travel and working away from home Good understanding of health and safety practices
Qualifications:
Full UK Driving Licence (Essential) FLT Licence (Essential) Previous manufacturing, engineering or industrial experience beneficial but not essential Only candidates based in UK and eligible to work in UK are allowed
