Trainee Contracts Manager Permanent Stafford £27,000 - £35,000k DOE
My client is a trusted, family-run company with over 40 years of experience in the plumbing and heating industry. They offer both commercial and domestic services, including boiler installation and servicing, bathroom installations, and heating systems. Their team is Gas Safe registered and a Worcester Bosch Platinum Installer, providing us the ability to deliver top-quality installations with extended warranties.
They are now looking to appoint a Trainee Contracts Manager.
This is an exceptional opportunity for the right Trainee Contracts Manager to join a highly respected, long-established business and grow into a leadership role, eventually managing the full operations of our commercial department. You will support and assist while learning the ropes from experienced professionals and positioning yourself for future leadership.
Assist in job costing and project budgeting
Order and source materials, ensuring cost-efficiency and quality
Conduct price comparisons and negotiate with suppliers
Manage staff schedules, workloads, and performance
Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget
Check and verify invoices against orders and deliveries
Support the running of commercial plumbing and heating projects
Identify and implement new systems and technologies to improve efficiency
Collaborate with leadership to develop and grow the department
Maintain compliance with industry standards and regulations
As the Trainee Contracts Manager you will have:
Essential:
Strong organizational and time management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Plumbing merchant or engineer background
Understanding of plumbing and heating systems
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Analytical mindset with attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Willingness to learn and take on increasing responsibility
Desirable:
Familiarity with project management tools or software
Understanding of procurement and supply chain processes
Knowledge of commercial plumbing/heating regulations
Interest in digital transformation and business development
