£28,500 - £30,000 (OTE £40,000+) + Full Training + Overtime at Time and a Half + 28 Days Holiday (Excluding Bank Holidays) + Company Vehicle

Are you mechanically minded and looking to start a hands-on, mobile engineering role with full training, excellent holiday entitlement, and the potential to boost your earnings through overtime?

A well-established, UK-wide engineering business is looking to expand its national reactive team with a Trainee Conveyor Belt Technician. Based out of Welwyn Garden City, you'll work across the Southern region, supporting clients in fast-paced industries such as postal logistics and food production.

In this role, you'll receive full in-house and external training to prepare you for the installation, maintenance, and repair of conveyor belts at customer sites. You'll start by assisting experienced engineers on scheduled and emergency jobs, learning how to prepare belts, carry out fittings, and identify different belt types and sizes. You'll use a mobile app to report your work, follow health and safety procedures, and gain valuable skills in a growing trade-while earning extra through uncapped overtime.

The Role:

• Assist with conveyor belt replacements and fittings at customer sites (reactive and planned)
• Prepare and manufacture belts for supply and installation
• Learn to identify and survey belt types, sizes, and materials during site visits
• Complete mobile job reports accurately and on time using Job Logic
• Work according to Capital Belting's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Participate in the on-call rota, including evenings and weekends (after training)

The Person:

• Mechanically minded individual from a maintenance, servicing, or engineering background
• Comfortable using hand tools, measuring equipment, and solving practical problems
• Full UK driving licence
