Trainee Generator Engineer - Plant Hire - Grays, Essex - Up to £30,000

About the company

We're looking for a Trainee Generator Engineer to join our busy depot in Grays, Essex.
In this entry level position, you will receive on-the-job training in a live hire-depot environment, designed to give you all the tools required to start a long career in engineering.

You will work closely with our foreman and service engineers, working through 10 specifically designed modules with a view to progressing into a fully qualified Field Service Engineer.

Trainee Generator Engineer - Requirements

• A desire to learn new skills
• An aptitude for mechanical engineering
• Some experience of plant or engine maintenance beneficial but not essential
• Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
• Ability to communicate with on all levels
• Eager to ensure excellent customer service levels at all times
• Forklift licence preferable but not essential (training will be provided

Trainee Generator Engineer - Responsibilities

• Assisting the Depot Foreman in servicing equipment ready for hire, receiving on the job training and support with a view to progressing into a Service Engineer role once qualified.

Once the necessary training is provided, responsibilities as a Service Engineer will include:

• Servicing Equipment - both in depots and out on site
• Fault finding
• Mechanical and Electrical repairs
• Genset Synchronisation
• Completing all paperwork associated with equipment maintenance - service sheets, PDI sheets etc.
• Adhere to Health & Safety guidelines at all times
