Trainee Machine Operative

Location: Letchworth

Pay: £12.71 per hour

Job Type: Temp to Perm

Hours: 7am-7pm, 4 on 4 off and 7pm-7am, 4 on 4 off, rotating shifts

About the Role

We are recruiting for a Trainee Machine Operative to join a well-established packaging company in Letchworth. This is a great opportunity for someone looking for long term work who wants to learn new skills and become a valued member of the team.

Full training will be provided, so previous machine operating experience is not essential. The ideal candidate will be local to Letchworth, committed to long term employment and keen to develop within a production environment.

What You’ll Do

• 
  

  Learn how to safely operate and monitor production machinery

  
  


• 
  

  Assist with the running of packaging machinery and production lines

  
  


• 
  

  Check products throughout the production process to ensure quality standards are met

  
  


• 
  

  Load materials and assist with machine setup and changeovers

  
  


• 
  

  Monitor machinery and report any issues to the relevant team member

  
  


• 
  

  Keep the work area clean, organised and safe

  
  


• 
  

  Follow production procedures and health and safety guidelines

  
  


• 
  

  Work as part of a team to meet production requirements

  
  

What We’re Looking For

• 
  

  A genuine interest in learning machine operation and developing new skills

  
  


• 
  

  Someone who is local to Letchworth and able to reliably commute to the site

  
  


• 
  

  Looking for a long term opportunity rather than short term work

  A good attitude and willingness to learn

  Comfortable working rotating 12 hour day and night shifts

  Previous experience in production, manufacturing, packaging, warehouse or factory environments would be useful but is not essential
