Job Description - Trainee Pensions Administrator

Job Title: Trainee Pensions Administrator
Location: Winchester
Salary:£25,500 per annum
Job Type: Full-time

Are you ready to start your career in a dynamic, professional environment where your development is a priority? Located in Winchester, our client is seeking a Trainee Pensions Administrator to join their supportive and ambitious team with the opportunity to study for professional qualifications within the pensions sector.

You’ll work with a variety of clients, gaining exposure to different schemes and building your knowledge and responsibility over time. This role is ideal for someone looking to grow within the pensions industry, with future opportunities to get involved in specialist areas and more technical work.

Experience is not necessary, so would suit someone who wants to learn or has perhaps recently graduated. Must have a 6 or above in GCSE Maths and be highly numerate with the desire to work with numbers.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Calculating members’ benefits using templates or automated routines
  • Preparing letters and standard communications to members, clients, and advisers
  • Maintaining accurate member records and client databases
  • Assisting with data entry and bulk data updates
  • Responding to member and client queries via phone and email
  • Supporting day-to-day administration and project work

  • Ideally educated to A-level, degree level, or equivalent
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills - both written and verbal
  • A proactive team player with the ability to manage a busy workload
  • A high level of professionalism and a flexible approach to work
  • Curious, keen to learn, and open to studying for professional qualifications
  • Prior office experience is helpful but not essential
