Trainee Quantity Surveyor – Cladding & Fire Safety
Location: Worcestershire (office-based, with site visits)
Type: Permanent, full-time

The company
Our client is a fully accredited specialist contractor working in one of construction’s fastest-growing areas: building safety. They deliver cladding remediation, passive fire protection, fire doors, compartmentation, balconies and decking. They take projects from survey and investigation through design, certification and installation, working alongside independent fire engineers so that buildings meet the latest fire safety standards.

The role
This is a great opportunity for someone at the start of their career to train as a Quantity Surveyor with a specialist, growing business. You’ll learn on the job, supporting the commercial team across a range of live projects, with structured support towards a recognised QS qualification.

What you’ll be learning and doing

* Supporting the QS team on measurement and quantity take-offs from drawings

* Helping prepare quotations and tender pricing

* Assisting with monthly valuations and applications for payment

* Raising orders with suppliers and subcontractors

* Tracking costs, variations and project budgets

* Visiting sites to measure and record work

* Keeping commercial records accurate and up to date

What we’re looking for

* A strong interest in construction and a career in quantity surveying

* Studying, or keen to study, Quantity Surveying or a related subject (degree, HNC/HND or apprenticeship)

* Good with numbers and confident using Excel

* Organised, with strong attention to detail

* A willingness to learn, ask questions and get stuck in

* Any construction, admin or commercial experience is a bonus, but not essential

* Full UK driving licence (preferred)
