Job Description - Trainee Team Leader (Workshop/CNC/Manufacturing)
Location: North Somerset Salary: £17.5 - £18 p/h Overtime Available Hours: Monday to Friday | Permanent Position

We are recruiting for a Trainee Toolroom / Workshop Team Leader to join a well-established and highly respected manufacturing business. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in supporting production operations while leading and developing a skilled workshop team.
The Role:
As Team Leader, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the Production area, supporting production requirements, coordinating tooling repairs and manufacture, and driving high standards of workmanship, safety, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and support day-to-day Production Room area and Warehouse activities.
* Set up, operate, and maintain CNC and conventional machining equipment.
* Respond to tooling breakdowns quickly and effectively to minimise production downtime..
* Troubleshoot tooling and manufacturing issues to support production efficiency.
* Assist maintenance and engineering teams when required.
* Promote continuous improvement and best practice across the workshop.
* Ensure high standards of housekeeping, health & safety, and quality are maintained.
* Support, mentor, and develop junior team members.
What We're Looking For
* Previous experience within a Tool Room, Workshop, Mould Shop, or Manufacturing/Production Engineering environment.
* Some machining experience, including CNC machinery (Heidenhain, Fanuc etc.).
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
* Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Leadership experience is advantageous but not essential.
