Vacancy Type: Permanent, 37.5 hours per week Monday – Friday

Established in 1928, our client has nearly 100 years of expertise in providing high-quality fabricated metal products. Operating from four manufacturing plants across the West Midlands and the North, they employ around 180 people and continue to invest in state-of-the-art facilities, including robotic welding, laser cutting, and CAD/CAM technology.

The Role

They have an excellent opportunity for someone to join their growing business at an exciting time within the company’s history. They are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Trainee Technical Sales Estimating Engineer who will work alongside their other talented sales estimators.

The role would suit someone who has previously completed an engineering qualification or apprenticeship or has experience in a drawing office/design environment. The successful candidate will receive full training and support.

As a Trainee Technical Sales Estimating Engineer, you will.

• Assist in the building of good relationships with their clients
• Produce technical quotations and estimates that are clear, detailed and accurate.
• Liaise with the project team, client, architect and structural engineers to gather relevant information.
• Communicate with clients to gain feedback on estimates.
• Attend both internal and external meetings.
• Maintain files and records.

Skills and Qualifications

• A good level of computer literacy, especially in Excel.
• Previous completion of an engineering qualification or apprenticeship
• Organised with a keen eye for detail
• Good communication skills both verbal and written.
• Ability to read engineering drawings is ideal
• Previous experience in fabrication / engineering environment and/or design office ideal.
