  • A training budget to keep your skills and knowledge ahead of the competition
  • A modern, well-equipped head office HQ
  • A standard pension scheme
  • A supportive and forward-thinking environment
  • Salary: £36,000 – £40,000

Key Responsibilities

Route Optimisation & FSM Implementation

  • Take the lead in deploying and optimising a new FSM system with features including:
  • Route planning and optimisation
  • Capacity and workforce load balancing
  • Real-time technician diary and job allocation
  • Work closely with operational teams to ensure accurate and efficient scheduling.
  • Use data from FSM and telematics systems to reduce travel time, improve technician utilisation, and enhance customer experience.

Compliance & Legal Requirements

  • Ensure full compliance with DVSA standards and all relevant transport legislation.
  • Maintain records for vehicle checks, driver compliance, licence validations, and H&S.
  • Oversee the management of penalties, incident logs, insurance claims, and audit readiness.
  • Ensure company policies are aligned with UK transport laws and best practices.

Budget & Cost Management

  • Own the transport and fleet budget, including forecasting, tracking, and cost reduction.
  • Monitor and report on fuel consumption, mileage, maintenance costs, and usage patterns.
  • Lead procurement and performance management of key suppliers and partners.
  • Review and negotiate leasing, servicing, and fuel card contracts to maximise value.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Line manages a team of 2 (with plans for future expansion).
  • Provide coaching, 1:2:1's performance reviews, and development plans for team members.
  • Collaborate with Operations, HR, and Finance teams to support business objectives.
  • Deliver regular reports and performance insights to the Operations Director.

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience managing a UK-wide fleet in a transport/fleet/field-based operation.
  • Strong knowledge of UK transport regulations, compliance, and fleet operations.
  • Hands-on experience with route optimisation software and workforce scheduling tools.
  • Track record of managing fleet budgets, supplier contracts, and cost controls.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organisational, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in fleet and telematics systems, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
