Job Description - Transport & Logistics Planner

Morgan McKinley is looking for an experienced Transport & Logistics Planner to work for a busy organisation based in the Crawley, West Sussex area. The Transport Planner will be working on a shift basis 2pm-10pm Sun-Thurs and will be responsible for the day to day planning of the transport operation.

Salary: £35-37K

Location: Office based - Crawley

Hours: 2pm-10pm Sun-Thurs

Transport Planner duties:

Ensuring driver team arrive for work on time and arrange cover for absences
Correct utilisation of staff and vehicles using the company diary sheet/planner
Route all vehicles available generating revenue and solid route plans to ensure that routes are both achievable and vehicles are used to best efficiency
Maintaining and updating any amendments throughout the day so the information is live for all to access
Handle driver and customer queries
Analysing delivery data to ensure the relevant KPIs and revenue targets are achieved on each vehicle.
Arrange and oversee loading/pre-loading activity to ensure a timely despatch

Skills and experience:

Proven Transport or Logistics Planner experience, working in a similar role
Excellent operational and customer service skills
Good geographical knowledge of the UK
